The warm colors, the smells, the crisp cool air – Late Fall is one of my favorite times of year for senior sessions. This October, Heather and I met up at one of my local favorites, Riverbend Farm.
I love how senior sessions lend themselves to featuring your hobbies and interests. As an artist, Heather has a love for and appreciation of her camera as one of her creative tools, so we had to make sure we could incorporate that into her session.
This upcoming year, Heather is looking forward to “hopping across the pond” as they say and studying art in London!
This summer, I had the pleasure of photographing Bellingham High School senior Connor as my first Class of 2024 Senior of the season! This was an extra special session, as I’ve been photographing his family for going on 10 years now, and I could not believe what a grown young man he’s turned into!
On what had to be one of the most humid days of July, Connor was an absolute champ. We started with a quick session at Riverbend Farm, where I photographed one of my first seniors (his aunt!) back in 2013.
Wanting to focus on what he loves most – his passion for football and wrestling – we headed over to the football field at Bellingham High School to wrap up his senior session. By then the humidity had lessened a bit (thank you!) and Connor was clearly in his element – on the field.
The Paterson family was my last family session of the 2022 season, and what a show-stopper it turned out to be. As is typical in November, weather forced us to reschedule a few times but we finally ended up with the perfect afternoon. A little chilly, but oh that sunset – just what Erika envisioned!
Even when there’s a beautiful sunset and a bright red barn (two of my favorite things!) I love converting images to black and white. I feel like it really allows the story to come through – focuses your attention on the interactions, the textures, the emotions. I was excited to hear Erika also shares a love for black and white images too, so we mixed in a lot of those options as well.
Once the boys had had enough, we sent them off and took a moment to capture just Erika and Rob together.
As I was wrapping up editing, I recalled having similar images from their wedding I captured, just about 9 years previously. I had to share…
From drama props to athletic gear, Sam came prepared to rock his Senior Portrait session. Nothing brings more personality and excitement to a session than incorporating momentos of all your favorite things — the ones that really represent “you”.
As part of the session, it was important for me to capture shots that Sam could use in his portfolio as he pursues endeavors in the world of theater.
I had some fun in post with this one, pushing the Peaky Blinders vibe
Last week I met up with 2023 Grafton High School Senior Bridget to capture some a mix of portraits and headshots for her senior portraits, and for her Drama portfolio. We had SO much fun exploring a new location and capturing these images. Bridget is such a funny, beautiful soul – it was truly a pleasure to work with her during this session.
A few months back, I photographed Mik and Dan’s Maternity photos. On her due date, Mik went into labor and delivered Ms. Charlotte to the world! Her curly little hair and smooshy cheeks, I couldn’t get enough of this little lady!
Mom and dad are so in love with their little princess…
After returning from their “babymoon” to the Florida Keys, Mik and Dan wrapped up their vacation week with a maternity session at one of our local favorites.
Look at this mama glow!
So happy for these two, can’t wait to meet baby girl!
After photographing their 2020 wedding, I was excited to hear from Shannon again to capture maternity portraits for her and Jacob. If you’re familiar with New England, you know one thing you can count on in February- COLD! Thankfully, we were able to escape the frigid temperatures and wind by securing a reservation at Tower Hill Botanic Garden in Boylston, MA.
We were fortunate enough to visit during PRISMATIC, An Orchid Exhibition in which they had over 1,400 colorful orchids and art installations on display. It was absolutely beautiful.
The beautiful mama-to-be
Congratulations again Jake and Shannon, looking forward to hearing of Baby Moon’s arrival!
This client had a vision for his senior portrait session: rustic, country, and a tractor. We started Jake’s session at a local park, a favorite location of his family (and where we captured his older sister, Autumn’s Class of 2017 Senior Portraits).
I reached out to my local farm, Town Line Dairy Farm located in Upton, MA. The owners, Crystal and Johnny, were SO wonderful in opening up their farm for us to capture the shots we wanted. Jake, a senior enrolled in the Auto Technology program at the local vocational high school, was even offered the opportunity to take the tractor for a drive across the field.
Jake wrapped up his session with an up-close-and-personal meeting with some of the cows, and I took advantage of the opportunity to take some of their portraits as well. I have to say, this is hands-down one of my top 5 favorite sessions I’ve every done!
