Baby Olivia

What is better then getting to witness two of your favorite people getting married? Seeing them add a beautiful baby girl to their family! Olivia was a perfectly sweet little client for her newborn session last week. Those cheeks, those lips, I can’t get enough of this sweet little girl!

Reece turns one

I met Joyce and Max when I photographed their wedding last month, and this week I had the pleasure of taking family photos in celebration of their daughter’s first birthday! Little Reece was shy at first, but a few handfuls of blackberries was all it took to change her mood 🙂 I love all the little moments we were able to capture of their sweet family. EmeryReece-29

Addie’s 18 month session

On almost every photo shoot with parents of young ones, mom ends up getting stressed out with her child’s behavior. She has this vision of a smooth photo shoot with beautiful photos of her child, in their adorable little outfit, and then the session comes and what she sees during the shoot is her very active, “uncooperative”, busy child running around and it seems unlikely that we’re getting any good shots. I always assure mom that all shoots with little ones go like this. I repeat ALL SHOOTS GO LIKE THIS! I’m usually running around after them, looking I’m sure like some kind of lunatic making all these crazy noises and jumping around to get their attention. When the family’s images are ready, I’m usually met with responses along the lines of “oh my goodness these are beautiful, I thought for sure we’d have nothing, I love them!”

To illustrate this point, I’d like to share all the outtakes from today’s shoot with my 18 month old daughter, Addison. Let me tell you, she is one of the BUSIEST children I have ever met, and certainly a challenge when I’m trying to take them without some there to assist with child wrangling, but she did come and give me kisses between almost every photo, so it did come with it’s own benefits as well 😉

These are because I took her socks off to see her cute little piggies – she was trying to mimic the silly noises I was making at her to distract her from her feet and get a smile out of her:

A few weeks ago, Addison learned a new dance at daycare that includes “up and down, up and down” and that seems to be the theme of her life every day since:

Keeping anything in her hair to keep her bangs out of her face is a tall task, so half the shoot was spent trying (unsuccessfully) to get her to stop trying to take off her headband. I tried distracting her from its existence by asking where her belly was (I should have known better) and the next few pictures were spent trying to convince her to keep her shirt on:

And then finally, her dancing (aka jumping up and down again) and then laying on the floor to play “nu-nights”

While not all of these are “canvas on the wall” worthy, I love how much her crazy little personality shines through in this series. I know years from now the memories will fade, which is why I will be ordering all of these for our family photo albums, so someday when Addison has crazy children, I can remind her where they get it from 😉

Finally, here are my favorite “frame-worthy” images from our session:

A Snowy Family Session

There are few things more beautiful than a snowy New England morning…

Overnight, Mother Nature blessed us with a fresh white snow that provided a beautiful backdrop for my session with the Edgren’s. Extended family sessions are so special, and absolutely one of my favorite types of sessions to capture! Aunts and Uncles catching up; cousins laughing; and the grandparents watching over all of it with a smile on their face – I love capturing all the different family dynamics!

Here are some of my favorites from their session:

Addison Turns One

Addison, you came into our life at just the right time to complete our family. It’s been such an amazing journey watching you grow, and watching Kaydence become a big sister 🙂 You have brought so much love and laughter to our household, I can’t believe how quickly this first year has passed!!

Brett’s BarMitzvah

This October, I had the pleasure of photographing Brett’s Bar Mitzvah. We met at Congregation B’nai Shalom in Westboro to capture portraits of the family and Brett before the ceremony took place.

From the live entertainment to the hockey skate centerpieces and custom logo party swag, all I can say is if Ami was ever looking for a career change, party planning would DEFINITELY be the way to go! 😉

A new addition…

Last weekend I had the pleasure of exploring River Bend Farm and capturing family portraits for the lovely Cordaro Family, including their newest little one, miss Anna. It was so sweet seeing Aria being a big sister; it seems like just yesterday I was taking her newborn family photos!

Natick Senior Session at Broadmoor Wildlife Sanctuary

On a hot summer August day, I met up with this lovely Natick High Senior for her senior portrait session! This was my first time visiting the Broadmoor Wildlife Sanctuary, and I have to say, I think I’ve found a new favorite portrait session location! Fiona has spent many summers at this sanctuary as a camp counselor, and knew all the best little spots to go for these gorgeous photo opportunities.

Here are a few of my favorites:
