Addison, you came into our life at just the right time to complete our family. It’s been such an amazing journey watching you grow, and watching Kaydence become a big sister 🙂 You have brought so much love and laughter to our household, I can’t believe how quickly this first year has passed!!
And now, her one year portraits!
As a busy mom, wife, teacher, photographer, dog mom, girl scout troop leader (anything else?!) I always find myself so behind on taking pictures of my own children. My goal this year is to be better at staying on top of it this year (as I write this, I’m reminded that I STILL have yet to take my oldest daughter’s yearly portrait now that she just turned 8 so I’m already behind)!
The weekend Addison turned 6 months, I found myself with a quick half hour of time to snap some pictures of her in all her cuteness 🙂 Enjoy!
For Addison’s 3 month portraits, I wanted to honor my late grandmother, our “Grandy”. In July of 2016, my grandmother went to the doctor for a raspy, sore throat she was not able to shake. Within days of that appointment, she was diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer. By the time they found it, it had spread to her lymph nodes and bones. Ready to put up a fight, Grandy started her first round of chemotherapy treatment. On the morning of my first day of the new school year, I received a phone call from my mom at 3:58am. I learned our dear Grandy had suddenly passed away. My family was left devastated, to say the least. Grandy had just retired a short time before, and was excitedly looking forward to caring for Addison one day a week after I went back to work. Before learning about her illness, Grandy had started knitting several gifts for Addison, one of them being what has to be the softest blankets I have ever held (the pink and purple blanket featured in these photos). While we are devastated that she never had the chance to meet her third great-granddaughter, we are so happy to have these special gifts she made just for her that we can treasure forever.
Shortly after my photo shoot with the DeMauro family, I had the pleasure of shooting the family of Dan’s sister, Emily. I met up with her and her husband Will and their three boys at Riverbend Farm. What a fun shoot! Her boys are just so silly and adorable, and their oldest was such a good big brother.
Shortly after their photo shoot, I learned that Emily and Will were expecting yet another little boy to add to their family! We just might have to update this photo next year 😉
There are few things I love more than snuggling new little babies, and Dan and Britney’s son, Daniel, is just one of the cutest little boys ever! He was so sweet, and I loved capturing the looks of complete infatuation and true love of the new parents. I’m so happy for you guys and your perfect new little family!
This August I had the pleasure of photographing this little cutie, Lilliana, and her family for her 3rd birthday. We met up at Riverbend Farm on a perfect summer evening for this session. We had so much fun running, playing and laughing – and captured so many great shots, it’s so hard to narrow it down!
As families grow and get busy with their own lives, it can be difficult to get everyone together at one time. Extended family photos and generational portraits offer the perfect opportunity to reconnect, and capture special memories your entire family will treasure forever!
This past winter, I was contacted by a previous client with a special request. Her mother had always wanted professional photos of all of her children and grandchildren together, and while their family from Michigan was in town for the holidays, they wanted to take advantage of that opportunity to have them taken! A few days after Christmas we met up at Riverbend Farm, and while winter can sometimes be tricky for outdoor sessions (especially with this years record-breaking winter), we really lucked out with the weather!
“For the holidays, my mom requested professional portraits of her extended family. After having such a wonderful experience with my daughter’s Senior portraits, I immediately contacted Monique! Monique was able to capture all 15 of us in the most natural setting, incorporating our ideas with many of her own. She took a personal interest in our entire family and it is so apparent when we see the photos. Her photographs captured our family’s story. I could not have asked for a better experience, or more importantly, such beautiful photos that we will treasure for a long time.” – Cara B.
I had these two beauties in the studio this February. Although they may look like it, I swear they are not really twins, haha! These girls are just so polite and sweet. After their session was done, they were so good about playing horses with my daughter (who had quite a case of the sillies when they were here!). These two girls have been horseback riding since they were 3, which of course started prompting the questions of “mumma, when can I start horseback riding?” as soon as they left! I hope you enjoyed your session and the photos you two! <3
And look whose Little Black Book album came in today!
