Natick Senior Session at Broadmoor Wildlife Sanctuary

On a hot summer August day, I met up with this lovely Natick High Senior for her senior portrait session! This was my first time visiting the Broadmoor Wildlife Sanctuary, and I have to say, I think I’ve found a new favorite portrait session location! Fiona has spent many summers at this sanctuary as a camp counselor, and knew all the best little spots to go for these gorgeous photo opportunities.

Here are a few of my favorites:

A Coastal Wedding in Rockport, MA

I had the privilege of second shooting this summer wedding with my dear friend, Alisha Maria Photography. The cliff-side ceremony was held at the Captain’s House, an absolutely beautiful bed and breakfast in Rockport, MA. I then went to capture the cocktail hour and reception at the Community House of Rockport.

Baby A is 6 months

As a busy mom, wife, teacher, photographer, dog mom, girl scout troop leader (anything else?!) I always find myself so behind on taking pictures of my own children. My goal this year is to be better at staying on top of it this year (as I write this, I’m reminded that I STILL have yet to take my oldest daughter’s yearly portrait now that she just turned 8 so I’m already behind)!

The weekend Addison turned 6 months, I found myself with a quick half hour of time to snap some pictures of her in all her cuteness 🙂 Enjoy!

Baby A is 3 Months

For Addison’s 3 month portraits, I wanted to honor my late grandmother, our “Grandy”. In July of 2016, my grandmother went to the doctor for a raspy, sore throat she was not able to shake. Within days of that appointment, she was diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer. By the time they found it, it had spread to her lymph nodes and bones. Ready to put up a fight, Grandy started her first round of chemotherapy treatment. On the morning of my first day of the new school year, I received a phone call from my mom at 3:58am. I learned our dear Grandy had suddenly passed away. My family was left devastated, to say the least. Grandy had just retired a short time before, and was excitedly looking forward to caring for Addison one day a week after I went back to work. Before learning about her illness, Grandy had started knitting several gifts for Addison, one of them being what has to be the softest blankets I have ever held (the pink and purple blanket featured in these photos). While we are devastated that she never had the chance to meet her third great-granddaughter, we are so happy to have these special gifts she made just for her that we can treasure forever.

2017 Senior Ellie

Last summer I was excited to FINALLY photograph this wonderful class of 2017 Blackstone Valley Tech senior, Ellie. I met Ellie back when she was a Freshman in high school, when she grabbed one of my senior portrait flyers for her mom insisting “I’m going to have you do my senior portraits!” Fast forward three years (and how quickly THEY went) and sure enough here we were, planning out her senior portrait session!

Ellie is quite a unique individual, and wanted to make sure we captured that in her portraits. I love when my seniors bring unique props to showcase their favorite activities and hobbies! An Edgar Allen Poe fanatic, we got photos of Ellie her with her collection of favorite books, her sketchbook, and of course her camera.

Ellie will be attending Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) pursuing a degree in Production.

I recently had the pleasure of photographing this Blackstone Valley Tech senior, Meaghan! I have to say this is one of my favorite families to work with – we always have so much fun with their shoots! This time we explored the BEAUTIFUL Moore State Park and I have to say, I now have a new favorite spot! (well, with the exception of those water snakes we had to dodge – eek!) Some places are just so beautiful, it’s worth the risk 😉

I also love photographing dancers, and have a special love for Pointe – I still can’t imagine the strength and training (and pain!) must go into being able to do that!

After graduation, Meaghan plans on attending Umass and majoring in Communication Disorders.

2017 Senior Sam

I cannot believe this handsome cousin of mine is all grown and graduating high school! Just two years ago I shot his sister’s senior portraits up in West Groton, MA, and to date it is one of my favorite locations I’ve ever shot! I was so excited to get the opportunity to shoot around the grounds of Rivercourt Residences again.

And of course we had to get some with Sam’s one of his favorite possessions – his motorcycle!

Worcester State Dance Company

I had SO MUCH FUN capturing the Spring Showcase for the Worcester State University Dance Company in Worcester, MA! It’s clear just how much hard work these young ladies and men put in and just how passionately they do it – the performances were absolutely amazing!

Quirk Family

The holidays are all about catching up and spending time with those you love. While I normally reserve December for time to do just that, I was more than happy to make an exception for Rose when she requested I take photos of her family while both of her sons were in town visiting. You see, I had the privilege of having Mrs. Quirk as a teacher for all four years of high school, and she was always one of my biggest advocates and supporters – I knew I had to take this opportunity to repay her for everything she’s done for me.

On the morning of Christmas Eve, I headed over to The Quirk’s beautiful home in the woods of Upton, MA. It was an unusually warm day for December, so we were excited to be able to take advantage of that and hold their session outdoors with the woods providing a beautiful, natural backdrop. Rose even went to the extent of purchasing matching flannel from LL Bean for the entire family, and the results were FANTASTIC!

Holiday Mini Sessions

This year, my mini sessions took place at Heritage Park in Upton, MA. Although it was a battle against the cold and wind for this one, these girls were not even phased and we ended up with some beautiful images of some equally beautiful girls.
