Natick Senior Session at Broadmoor Wildlife Sanctuary

On a hot summer August day, I met up with this lovely Natick High Senior for her senior portrait session! This was my first time visiting the Broadmoor Wildlife Sanctuary, and I have to say, I think I’ve found a new favorite portrait session location! Fiona has spent many summers at this sanctuary as a camp counselor, and knew all the best little spots to go for these gorgeous photo opportunities.

Here are a few of my favorites:

2017 Senior Ellie

Last summer I was excited to FINALLY photograph this wonderful class of 2017 Blackstone Valley Tech senior, Ellie. I met Ellie back when she was a Freshman in high school, when she grabbed one of my senior portrait flyers for her mom insisting “I’m going to have you do my senior portraits!” Fast forward three years (and how quickly THEY went) and sure enough here we were, planning out her senior portrait session!

Ellie is quite a unique individual, and wanted to make sure we captured that in her portraits. I love when my seniors bring unique props to showcase their favorite activities and hobbies! An Edgar Allen Poe fanatic, we got photos of Ellie her with her collection of favorite books, her sketchbook, and of course her camera.

Ellie will be attending Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) pursuing a degree in Production.

2017 Senior Sam

I cannot believe this handsome cousin of mine is all grown and graduating high school! Just two years ago I shot his sister’s senior portraits up in West Groton, MA, and to date it is one of my favorite locations I’ve ever shot! I was so excited to get the opportunity to shoot around the grounds of Rivercourt Residences again.

And of course we had to get some with Sam’s one of his favorite possessions – his motorcycle!

Hailey’s Senior Photos

I recently had the pleasure of photographing this gorgeous Uxbridge High School senior, Hailey! This was my first portrait session at Kiwanis Beach in Upton, which is one of mine and my daughter’s favorite places to spend summer days! Our timing could not have been any better; the evening twilight made for absolutely GORGEOUS lighting for Hailey’s portraits.

After graduation, Hailey plans on attending school for Biology. Best of luck, Hailey!

Autumn’s Senior Session

Last summer I had the pleasure of photographing this Class of 2016 Valley Tech senior, Autumn! Although it was a bit muggy, we had a great time with her session! Autumn, her mom and sister brought along chalkboard signs so we could create a fun montage featuring her graduation year.

Although she finds leaving high school to be bittersweet, Autumn is looking forward to graduating this Spring.

Zack’s Senior Session

I had the great opportunity this summer to create a truly unique and different senior session for this Blackstone Valley Tech senior, Zack. In addition to more traditional portraits, taking the photos at his home allowed us to incorporate all of Zack’s favorites into his session – from his Jeep and dirt bike to his beloved St. Bernard’s, Jabba and Zeus.

After graduation, Zack plans on participating in the ROTC program at Norwich University and then pursuing a military career.

Edward’s Senior Session

I had the pleasure of photographing another class of 2016 Blackstone Valley Tech senior, Edward. In addition to working as an intern in the Design and Print Center, Edward enjoys being involved in the volleyball program at the school both volunteering with the girls team in the Fall and playing on the Boys Varsity team in the spring. This of course meant we had to get a few shots of him in his favorite volleyball gear 😉

“Monique is a consummate professional, but makes the senior portrait process enjoyable for the client. The final product is what you would expect from the combination of professional and enjoyable – outstanding photos that capture the essence of the person, their personality and their spirit in the most natural and complimentary way possible. We could not have possibly been happier with Edward’s senior portraits. They are keepsakes we will cherish forever.”          – Louise Taylor, Upton

Kristen Senior Session

Kristen’s Senior Session

Last summer I had the pleasure of photographing this Class of 2015 senior, Kristen! Before we headed out for her session, my friend and professional hair and makeup artist Beckie Davis met up with us at Kristen’s house to get her primped and ready for her portraits! (Learn more about Monique Tervo Design & Photography’s Senior Glam Experience) After about an hour of getting her hair and makeup perfect, we were ready to go!

As we were leaving Kristen’s, I noticed the skies were turning grey. Then, sprinkles were dropping on the windshield. I started pleading with mother nature, especially after just having her hair and makeup done, to please just hold out for a bit longer!

And she listened! The sprinkles stopped within minutes of arriving at River Bend Farm, and we proceeded with business as usual – and Kristen ROCKED it!

Kristen is excited to be graduating this Spring, and will be headed to Salem State University to study Psychology!

Haylee Senior Fitch's Bridge

Haylee’s Senior Session

I am still in awe that this gorgeous girl is already a senior in high school! I headed out to West Groton, MA on a beautiful summer day to take senior portraits for my cousin, Haylee. We started off taking portraits at Fitch’s Bridge, a historical bridge (that received a complete renovation in 2013) where Haylee spends a lot of time with her friends.

Lauren Senior

Lauren’s Senior Session

Where do I even start with this one! Lauren is one of the first students I had when I started teaching, which gave us the unique opportunity to spend a great deal of time together planning out her perfect senior session. We spent weeks (ok, probably months!) discussing ideas for her portraits. Lauren wanted a little bit of everything – nature, a bit of a rustic touch (she LOVES country music), and because dance has been a huge part of her life since she was 3, we absolutely had to feature that passion in her photos. On a gorgeous summer day, we headed out to one of my favorite locations, Riverbend Farm in Uxbridge, MA.

“I loved working with Monique! She had a lot of ideas and did a great job incorporating mine too. She is very professional and upbeat. It was a great first experience with a photographer. My family couldn’t be happier with how my portraits turned out, it was so hard to choose which ones to order!”

After graduation, Lauren is going to school to be a pediatric nurse. She plans on continuing to participate on her dance team and playing club volleyball. Lauren – I will miss you greatly next year, but I can’t wait to see where life takes you!
